Nothing like starting with a real need for warmth...

Hi All (especially Erica).
We are seriously renovating a 600 sq ft cottage near Lake Erie, Ontario, Canada, complete with solar panels and an air conditioning system based on bringing water inside from an abandoned well shaft on the property. Pretty green, eh? Well, I refuse (DO YOU HEAR ME? I SAID *REFUSE*!) to burn natural gas that comes from fracking, and that's all we can get here, so I need to heat my house somehow. It's November now, and the first snow has come already. We need heat, as we are leaving the apartment on December 31. I was hoping to create a rocket mass heater (in an hour or so) and be all right from there.
