select the workshops you would attend

The purpose of this thread is to try and figure out what workshops to offer in 2014 and 2015. We do not have the infrastructure at this time to offer them all.

If you can attend just one (cost of workshop (or work trade), airfare, etc. and/or time constraints or whatever reasons) then please do a thumbs up just once on the one workshop that you want the most.

If you can attend three, then please do a thumbs up on three.

If you cannot attend any, then please do not do a thumbs up on any of these.

For people that need it or don't, we do heaps of work trade where people come and help out for a week or two and then take a workshop for free or reduced amount.

Build an 800 square foot wofati house. Four weeks. People can attend all four weeks or just one or two weeks.

Build a 200 square foot freezer wofati. Two weeks. People can attend both weeks or just one week.

Earthworks, Hugelkultur, tefa and lemon trees in Montana. Probably one week.

Introducing a creek to a dry gully. Probably one week. (multiple presenters - relatively experimental)

plant species / wild edibles / seed balls. Three or Four days.

Setting up paddock shift for chickens. Includes planting and constructing a portable coop. Four days.

Setting up paddock shift for pigs. Includes planting and constructing a portable pen. Three days.

farmstead meatsmith pork. four days.

farmstead meatsmith beef. Two days.

farmstead meatsmith poultry. Three days.

rocket mass heaters. Two days.

porta kitchen (an outdoor kitchen on skids) - we will build it. Four days

advanced rocket mass heater workshop - only for those that have attended a previous rocket mass heater workshop. We will extend the porta kitchen to include a j-tube style cooking surface especially enhanced to be for canning. Two days.

green woodworking part 1 (mallet, spoon, coat rack, shaving horse). One week

green woodworking part 2 (lathe, chair, table). One week.

woodland management and tree harvest: chainsaws and maintenance; roundwood stuff; sawmill stuff; splitting poles; shakes; peeling logs; ... A week or two.

how to build a solar cart; installing a permanent solar panel; heliostats / solar tracking; batteries; inverters; fresnel lens. A week.

drilling wells, water storage, cisterns. A week or two.

The permaculture bathroom: greywater, hot water from compost; pooper; soapnuts; laundry ... One week.

Honey bees, bee hut, mason bees. Four days.

food dehydrator. Two days

Making a water tight box without glue. Maybe barrels? Three days

Tool sharpening, handle replacement, scythe use ... three days.

food forest, polycultures, guilds, intro to gardening. Four days.

Earthbag construction. Four days.

Cob home (cob/wofati hybrid?). Week?

Earthen floors. Four days.

Finish plasters and artistic cob. Week.

Welding and metalwork. Three or four days

round wood furniture. Three or four days.

timber framing. Week.
