Very slowly but steadily I am moving towards my plant nursery project.
One problem to solve are labels. I want labels with a bit more information than the plant name.
Basic growing instruction, main uses and my webpage name.
Laminating seems to be a lot of work as each label has to be cut out individually and placed with spacing and then cut.
Is there something waterproof available to print with a usual inkjet printer?
Then I need easy to make, reusable, cheap and easy to install signs like"perennial salad plants" or "cottage garden" etc.
For the more unusual plants I need a fair bit of text and I wonder how I could arrange this that people actually read it and it should look great (be cheap and easy to make and can stand a bit of water...)
Who else runs a plant nursery?

Like this- http://www.amazon.com/Waterproof-Paper-Inkjet-Printer-SHEETS/dp/B008SGD7XA

Not sure how well it works as I've never tried it though- inkjet ink being water-based I'm not sure how well it would work.

From my experience most poeple lose their labels almost immediately. Are you wholesaleing or are people coming to your place? With the spread of smart phones maybe putting QR codes on a label would save a lot of space. That would drive more people to your website where they could get more information and reinforce your connection with them after a sale. If you are doing 8" or bigger pots maybe look into stickers that can go on the pot itself.

The smart phone idea is really great! Thanks I am so technically behind you can't imagine. Yes, I would sell from home (have to get the garden nice and tidy first).

I've been selected to go to the moon! All thanks to this tiny ad:
