Mayor Billy Kenoi signed the bill banning the growing of GMO crops under most situations and requiring all growers of exempted GMOs to annually register. The already established GMO papaya farms and the one dairy farm growing GMO feed corn are exempt from the ban, although they must abide by guidelines and regulations spelled out in the bill.

Huffington Post published a new blurb prior to mayor Kenoi signing the bill.
