Bees in a Barn

Another project (the biggest and most costly Im afraid) is turning a very old barn into a aquaponics green house. It will involve tons of insulation and a few Rocket Mass heaters. Does anyone know how/if I can put my new little friends in there.

Don't worry about cost...just kinda dreaming here....I figure better to ask the crazy questions here and see if they are actually crazy questions or have I finally found the elusive stupid question

From what I read there is a problem with bees and glass.... I'm planning on remodelling the barn....maybe taking off the roof and south, west and east walls off the 2nd floor. My goal is to have the AP to be self sustaining.

I'll post a rendering in the near future...I'm just mulling things over now.

Not sure if its a good idea . I worry if the bees are too warm in the barn then they might not slow down in winter use up too much of their stores and starve in spring . Most beehouses or bee boles I have seen just protect from the rain and snow not cold

Not the answer I was hoping for but I see your point. I'll put that on the back burner for now. I'll just bee happy raising them in the summer for now
