The Open Bug Farm Kits are now available! Come support this awesome project: http://www.openbugfarm.com/store/c1/Featured_Products.html

From the site:
The kit is a complete setup for breeding and rearing a continuous production of up to 1kg of food grade mealworms every 26 days, given optimal conditions. That's enough for twelve 80g (2.8oz) servings each month!

I ordered a bug kit from the group and received it this week. It is super simple and I look forward to testing it with some mealworms that should start hatching next week!

What are you feeding the mealworms to?

the plan is to feed them to poultry as a protein supplement. we haven't fed any, yet, as I'm trying to build up our population and experiment with different waste feeds.

But, the kit and that forum is super awesome, a great group of people, and you can learn more than you ever expected to know about farming insects.
