No predators and the explosion of semi feral rabbits on a Japanese island Okunoshima.

When I saw the topic I thought this was going to be some sort of rabbit containment system to stop them escaping.

An island in the middle of the lake which you can row over to and bag a bunny for dinner.

This is much better.

Various critters have been foolishly introduced to BC's Gulf Islands and to Washington's San Juan Islands. They eat until there's nothing left. The bag limit for deer goes as high as 10. The government spent a lot of money to control opossums on Hornby Island. They were living on shell fish. About half of Hawaii's native plants are extinct or threatened by exotic life forms. Rats and pigs have devastated many seabird populations. Island ecosystems are much less resilient than those of continents. If you live on one, don't release unwanted pets. Don't get pets that could run rampant.
