deer goes as high as 10. The government spent a lot of money to control opossums on Hornby Island. They were living on shell fish. About half of Hawaii's
native plants are extinct or threatened by exotic life forms. Rats and pigs have devastated many seabird populations. Island ecosystems are much less resilient than those of continents. If you live on one, don't release unwanted pets. Don't get pets that could run rampant.
