Well looking at the pictures of Saipan jungle fowl I am pretty sure one of my hens is a member.
She came from a chicken guy out in the middle of nowhere so I do not know for sure. She laid jumbo eggs every other day the first year I had her, which I thought was her second year. This season she has started laying again a little less frequently so far, but still something. She was the first of my hens to take to the trees, and seems very keen on survival. She is partners with another hen, so they go broody together, and she guarded the hatched chick with its mother, as it grew up.its my desire that when the other hen goes broody I will have one of these jungle fowl eggs to hatch out a baby and maintain her good genetics in my line.
Another perhaps negative thing I will add is, when I was doing a test integration with bringing two black americanas into the pen with the main crew, it was my Saipan jungle fowl who would corner them with their heads out the chain link and peck them relentlessly. In order for her aggression to stay in check, a rooster must be around.
