Hi Everybody!
I was here a few years ago, but mostly lurked. Then life happened and I just didn't make time to get on the forum anymore.
Life is still happening, but in a different direction. The husband is now an ex and the kids grew up. I got sick and lost my job. We've pretty much been fighting to survive and not putting much into the homestead, other than a basic garden. My daughter was able to barter for hay, so we kept the horses (although this past winter was hard on them!). Fortunately my health has improved and things are looking up again.
So here we are in northwest PA - "we" being my oldest daughter, her boyfriend, and my 2 youngest sons - on 4 very wet acres, pretty much starting over. But that's OK. We are still alive, so there is still hope.
