I'm not really trying to promote this, just thought it was cool and wanted to share.

Reading Rainbow Kickstarter

If you go to their updates tab, there is a video they posted about when they reached their $1 million goal in just 11 hours! It's quite emotional!

Couldn't post that video by itself here, though here is the kickstarter video.

People DO support good things.

I had to edit this thread to include other book joy for kids. This is an awesome story about a resourceful librarian: http://blog.sfgate.com/bookmarks/2014/06/09/winner-named-for-new-lemony-snicket-librarian-prize/.

I think she looks straight out of a book herself! She will receive $3,000 presented by Lemony Snicket (Daniel Handler), plus “an odd, symbolic object from Handler’s private collection.”

I've been browsing the forums for the past few years, but only recently have time to actively participate and catch up on podcasts...

... just wanted to take an opportunity to say "Hi Jocelyn!" and recognize/thank you for your efforts in the forums. Your posts always do such a great job to expand on details or wrap up questions.

Reading Rainbow was a huge influence on my childhood---and thus my current interests and outlooks. Invaluable! The episode about making paper and insulation from old jeans, the episode about earthen fire pottery some where in Hawaii. SO GOOD!

I'd appreciate it if you pronounced my name correctly. Pinhead, with a silent "H". Petite ad:
