Hello! Looking for ideas about pigs shelters. Im thinking to build a little log cabin as I have extra downed wood that isnt good for the woodstove anymore.

I also am in winter, so i am limited in construction methods. Im in zone 3a, the great white north of america.

Yes, logs would work, but be prepared, piggies are amazingly strong at lifting things.
If the cabin is not spiked down, they can and will lift it up
If you can find some used metal roofing, it works great laid on edge horizontally as the bottom of a fence, preferably buried 8-10".
This will provide a windbreak and block the view to the "Other side of the fence." (Always the better place)
Piggies are not intentional escape artists (like a dog is); they are accidental escapees.
They root, using the shovel on their nose, and suddenly, they are on the other side!!!
The horizontal metal restricts the view so they dig a hole to sleep in and stop.
