Hi!
I’ve been interested in semi-off grid living for quite some time but haven’t made many moves just yet. I’d love to do it with someone.
Who I’m looking for;
A man between 30-45ish.
(There are no hard numbers here)
Someone who has their own things going on. (Work, friends, hobbies and interests)
Obviously, somewhat interested in the lifestyle.
More function over form. Down to figure stuff out together. Someone stable and honest and committed and funny.
I tend to go for more of the handyman type than the sit at a desk type.
We all have our preferences into looks, but it’s not something that I really focus on. I’m not much of a dress-up person and I don’t wear makeup, but I can pull myself together if I need to. (If you do have preference, I’m 5’2” and kinda fat… see photos.)
About me;
I’ve been in Boston for almost 15 years, upstate NY before that. I’m interested in finding some land in the Bostonish area of New England. My mom lives in a memory facility here so ideally no farther than 1.5 hours drive (without traffic).
I’d be happy with 5 wooded acres, a cute little cabin and a garage workshop for toys or to get stuff done. I actually really want a yurt, but most properties I’ve seen require some form of permanent structure to be built.
If there was electric that would be great, but I’m happy to explore wind, solar, generator. City water or a well would also be great, but I’m also fine with rainwater collection and trucking water in if that were the case. I’d rather avoid a septic system and could handle an outhouse, composting, or incinerator toilet (my preferred).
I have lived on a boat in the harbor for the last 10 years almost. It’s certainly not off grid, but a great intro to living small, living smart and figuring out what you really need in life. I’ve been hot, I’ve been cold, I’ve had no water or frozen water pumps. No heat or electricity or plumbing when things go wrong.
I like to cook, listen to music, ride my motorcycle, hang out with my friends around the fire. I don’t really love being alone, despite wanting to move into the forest 🤣. I’m not really religious. I don’t think there’s some higher power pulling the strings, but I’m culturally Jewish. I am not materialistic. 99% of everything I have was either from a thrift store or a free group. I’ll mend my clothing before buying something new. Everything I have is because I wanted it not because somebody else had it first.
I don’t have kids and I don’t really want kids. If somebody already had kids it’s not an immediate no, it would just require a conversation. I do have cats. I’d be down for other creatures.
Ultimately, I just want a place in the woods away from the everyday hustle and bustle and not being 3 feet from the neighbors. I’m happy to work hard, but I don’t want to HAVE to work so hard just to survive. I work in management so I am organized and planning but also a little impulsive. My work is generally an in person gig so theoretically I could get a job anywhere but I do like my current job and wouldn’t mind the drive.
If that sounds like anything you’re interested then I’d love to chat or maybe you know someone!?
