The history of the guitar

I stumbled on this while learning about ukulele.  It's fascinating how plucked string instruments change over time and place.  Things like movable frets vs no frets.  And how tiny innovations completely alter the shape and sound of our music.

Where did the guitar come from?
We learn about and play 7 instruments along the path of the guitar's evolution,
from the Arabic Oud to the modern acoustic as we know it today.

Along with the history of guitars comes the history of tablature.   A music writing style much older than our modern style of writing specific sounds.  Instead, they write the physical location of what string to use in what order.
