Florida Tree Identification

Hello,

I am reaching out concerning the identification of a type of wood.  I have attached several pictures of the limbs, a picture of a tree similar to which from the limbs were obtained, and a picture showing a cross section of the wood, as links.

The diameter of the limb is about 4". I obtained it from a dead tree near the shore in the Indian River Lagoon. I suspect it is a type of pine, or maybe conocarpus erectus, although I am leaning towards the latter due its close proximity to mangroves and the fact that it was at the very edge of the water.

Please let me know if you require any additional information that would help in identifying this wood.

That looks like driftwood to me.

Try to find that tree with bark still attached then ID might be possible.

Maybe some of our tree experts can ID from the cross section.
