Nancy, I wanted them mostly for shade at our front porch and the first couple years it worked pretty good and then they got a rust from being so crowded and died back to one super healthy clump near a rain barrel and also where our nicest fig is. The clump in the photo above was a rescue from the porch, a very small clump then. I really need to get on a pruning schedule and work on some more permanent trellising.

Making beer is not out of the question for Steve....those days are past for me.
