pear tree at farm (Mollala, Canby?)

My question is: we visited the farm (Mollala, Canby?) a few years ago for an open house to taste the different products and got a tour. It was great! So informative.  Anyway, while on the tour we passed a pear tree that was loaded with pears. I dont care for oeats, but my husband had picked one up and told me just to taste it. OMG!  I am still obsessed just thru the memory of these pears!! The guide said, I believe, that was a Bennet pear. I have looked for them and everything I've seen says they are no longer around. Do you still have that old girl? Can we have/purchase slips to try for one on our icky Bartlett pear trees? They were THE BEST pears. Can you help out? Or, do you know of any trees out there for sale?

Welcome to the forum. I know nothing about that pear.

My suggestion would be to look at native pears or one av available locally.

Bennett pear is a classic but hard to find. Heritage varieties get lost over time. Check with local fruit societies or heirloom nurseries. One Green World is a good start. Also try Trees of Antiquity. If the farm still has the tree, they might share cuttings. Grafting onto Bartlett is possible but takes patience.

There are "Bennert" varieties maybe add that spelling to your search?
