Yes. I attended a Local Futures conference, around 2011, that Albert Bates attended (a co-founder of GEN). That was the first time I presented the concept of Regenerative Governance (then called PermOccupy). Over the years, we've had other encounters. He knows what RegenGov is. I just recently found out GEN now has something like the idea of networking communities together more closely than just being supportive of each other. I have also contacted GEN directly any number of times over the last 14 years, never receiving so much as a reply that I can recall.
Now, they have a minimal version of what I started sharing 14 years ago...? I mean, it's a good thing they're at least moving in that direction, but for goodness' sakes, I'm right here! People are... weirdly attached to their areas of influence.... which is anything but regenerative, but.... whatcha gonna do?
It's the end goal that matters. If they feel the need to pretend they didn't hear it from me first as a fully developed model that fits the modern world's needs to become regenerative, well, so be it. Most of the concepts and ideas can be found here and there, but only RegenGov brings it all together outside of the Indigenous sphere, so far as I have been able to determine, and only RegenGov is explicitly and intentionally First Principles-based.
It's not like I've made a living from doing this for the last 20 years, so... Just... do regenerative. We're talking survival here, so can't care too much how it happens. It would be better to have the world embrace it and never even know my name than the opposite, so... carry on my wayward sons and daughters.
If anyone is part of GEN, perhaps you can encourage full adoption of RegenSys - under whatever guise - rather than the tepid attempt they are engaging in now. Half measures will not overcome the tipping points being triggered...
