Open Call: Be Part of the Documentary

Three years ago, my partner and I quit our jobs to begin filming a documentary about natural farming (in the spirit of Masanobu Fukuoka). After traveling to farms throughout East Asia and the U.S., we are now in the final stage of editing the "Final Straw" documentary, and we’d like to ask for your help!

This is an open call for all farmers and gardeners and community farm managers who have a sustainable mindset (permaculture, natural farming, or even small-scale organic) to submit short videos (15-30 seconds) of people interacting with their farms. These videos will be added to a special section of the film that showcases how far reaching the community farming movement is across the world.

With a name like that, what would you call the sequel ?

Patrick, this looks like an awesome opportunity. Could I ask what you mean by "people interacting with their farms" ?

Nice, Dale. I think the sequel is called "bushels of new straw, made from the seeds of the final straw" although I admit, it's not quite so catchy.

Cassie, thank you. We're trying to leave the format open, but would like people to show why working in the farm/garden is important to them and their community.

To pick two examples, we have one of a farmer standing by his cows and introducing one of them... and on the other end, we have a group of school children at a natural farm camp, harvesting, sharing, and eating food and commenting on why they like being at the farm.

Thanks! Those are good examples. I think I get what you are asking for. I just feel like 15 seconds is really short but I also have never filmed anything so I wouldn't really know.
