Here's a great resource: http://www.nnrg.org/nw-certified-forestry Northwest Certified Foresters.

I get their email updates, which list all sorts of local western washington events and tours. They also summarize pertinent legislation and interesting news, links to other groups. I highly recommend it for anyone interested in forestry.

Alas, for now I just store it, as am not involved with any forestry projects. But it's cool to know there's a great knowledgable group of folks who can help me learn the craft at some future time.

Oh, and Kirk Hanson, permaculture guy from South Sound, and the Evergreen Land Trust, are involved with this group. So even if it doesn't say the word 'permaculture' on the website, the idea is there.

I thought it was a bear, but it's just a tiny ad
