I haven’t used them yet (I’m waiting for my weight to stabilize and my sewing machine to come back from the repair shop). I am planning to go to a local professional tailor and ask to pay them to take my measurements.

Then I am planning to make muslins of the things with bedsheets before committing to nice fabric to really make sure the fit is nailed.

I’m also planning to buy the basic pattern block in the size nearest my own and compare the standard block to my own; figuring out what modifications are needed to alter the off-the-shelf pattern to my body. (small boobs on a giant ribcage, broad shoulders, long torso, big thighs below not-big hips). I figure that if I know I need a +2” long torso adjustment, +1” broad shoulder adjustment, -1” small bust adjustment, +1” big thigh adjustment I’ll have a head start on getting a muslin of any pattern close to fitting correctly.

That’s the plan at least! Good luck in your endeavors!
