Dylan Kirsch wrote:... I was very flexible with them and also very generous. At one point I let them use one of my trucks for transportation. I did make it clear that I had certain rules to abide by, and was shown time and time again how ungrateful, dishonest, and untrustworthy these people were.

Not sure how I overlooked this before.

We had a fella here that wanted to borrow my truck.  I said "sure, just bring it back with a full tank."  He brought it back with a quarter tank.   I asked him about it and he said "I calculated the amount of gas i would use, and put that much in.  And then i ended up using it some more than I originally expected."  I told him that none of that added up to full tank.  He responded that at the gas station, he felt a full tank was an unfair amount.

My thinking was that I didn't know how much gas was in it.   So it was a roll of the dice whether it would be 15 gallons or 2.   But whichever way, it would be a helluva lot cheaper than renting a truck from something like "hertz".  And I was thinking that the extra gas would chip in for all that I pay into the rig:  repairs, maintenance, insurance, taxes, etc.
