I'm in Memphis TN with an opportunity to use the NW corner of Shelby Farms Park for an experiential permaculture site.
I need lots of help and need everybody in the area to get involved! We'll have unlimited resources from the stables, & tree trimmers have easy access to dump wood chips, etc.
We'll be right out there where we'll have plenty of opportunity to show off and share what we're doing. I hope I can find some partners for this project through this forum. Anyone interested please reply asap!!

Very timely for me as we just bought land outside the city that is dying for some permaculture. I could use some hands-on experience.

I'm in!

Hi Ray!
We're going to have our first get together on the 21st of Feb, 11am,
at Shelby farms, where the Learning Arbor is at Farm Rd and Mullins Station.
Where is the land you bought?

Hey folks,
I don't want to highjack your thread, but I was doing some research on permaculture in Memphis and this post came up. My husband and I run Spiral Ridge Permaculture, over in middle TN. We are hosting a weekend format Permaculture Design Certificate Course next month for only $900. We've been practitioners for over 14 years. We wanted to offer an affordable, live PDC for people in our bioregion...to build more resiliency in TN. Do you know of any other groups in the Memphis area that would be interested to know about this opportunity? Looks like there are a few scattered projects here and there, but not a whole lot going on. Anyway, I wish you the best on your project and applaud your efforts!
Sincerely,
Jennifer

Here's the link, if you want to check it out or pass it on...

Pam, that sounds good, my wife and I will be there. Our new place is 34 acres of mostly mature forest next to Shelby Forest.

Can you give me a preview of what we will be doing out there?

Ray

Hello Pam Jones, my name is Joey and I live about an hour east of Memphis. I am interested in learning more and more about permaculture with the ultimate goal of living completely self-sustained off grid. I am a long way from being able to do that and I would love to meet other like minded individuals who are interested in permaculture. I don't have any specific skills but I would be happy to come volunteer as a manual laborer for anyone who needs help during this event. Please let me know if I can help in any way.

We've had to change the meeting date from Feb 21 to Mar 6.
We'll be at Barnes&Noble Wolfchase, at 6pm.

I would love to join in on your project! I have a strong passion for permaculture and I am looking to mingle with like-minded people. If the meeting time and place haven't changed I would love to be there

Hi Lacey!
Please join us at 6 on the 6th!
It's the 1st mtg and we need to hit the ground running.
We will be deciding on the best plantings for the 1st guild in the food forest demonstration site.
Everyone's input is needed so that we can get started asap!
See you Friday
Pam

Hey guys, I haven't been on this forum in a while. I'm in Somerville is there still room for another permie? I'm actually trying to develop my permaculture site/farm in here in Somerville. So glad to hear there are others.
