Gone crazy.. I want to ditch 4 wheel drive and get 4 hoof drive.

With everything in the world being as it is, can we just find a secret place, ditch the cars and nuisances of today's society and make life simple again?
Horses bringing us into town to the general store, passing smiling faces and waves on our trip. Scooping up the manure and throwing it into designated composting piles set on the side of the road. Never seeing a plastic bottle because in town our neighbor has a blown glass shop and makes glassware for the entire community. Trading veggies and eggs for soap and cheese or labor for projects.
I need to hit the lottery, buy 600 acres and build an entire town and outskirts!

Wasn't that the basic plot of M. Night Shyamalan's "The Village"?
