Just joined Permies.com so thought I would say hello. In Vancouver, Canada at the moment and on my way to the Annapolis Valley Nova Scotia to restore an old 50 acre farm and orchard. Pretty much a blank canvas at this point other than the fruit trees. 8 acres of pasture land to plant out permie style and 38 acres of old forest land with a stream running through the back of the property. Thought I would spend some time here and maybe pick up a bit of info and inspiration. Cheers, Rob

Hey Robert. Welcome to the permies site. Sounds like your path is similar to mine... I moved from BC to a old farm in Nova Scotia 4 summers ago.

Check out my "Looking for Nova Sotians" post. https://permies.com/t/14263/great-white-north/Nova-Scotians

Hi Dan, I had a look at your post Looking for Novascotians this morning but will have another look. How are you liking living on the East coast ? I will be in Bear River in a few weeks planning the restoration project on the house, barn, out buildings and a major prune on the orchard to see what can be brought back into production, saved and or cuttings taken from. I have been on the West coast my whole life and thought it would be a good change to check out the other side of Canada. The price was right to ! You can spend a million dollars on a tear down in Vancouver these days and then sill have to build a house on it. I will get in touch with you before I head East. Cheers, Rob

The only cure for that is hours of television radiation. And this tiny ad:
