I live in the Uk and want to build a straw bale house but cannot find a bank/building society that will do it. I even tried getting a quote from an eco house building bank and they wont do it either. There's so much being advertised for eco housing and environmentally friendly housing but no one will lend me to do it. Has anyone got any info on a company/bank or build society that wil.
Thanks in advance.

Neil - Try Handelsbanken. They are not specifically an eco bank, but your application will at least be considered by a human. Their lending criteria are pretty strict though, so your finances need to be very sound to work with them.
