well I guess our opening up the woods ..making room for the wildlife to come through our property has had one results..yesterday morning and again this morning there were some gifts left for me on our rear deck (the one by the apple tree).
we have no apples on our apple tree this year cause of a late spring freeze for 3 days that killed all of our fruit tree buds..but guess that hasn't discouraged our local bear..
they have been eating some kind of dark reddish purple berries, larger than elderberries but smaller than a cherry, not sure what the berries are that they are eating..but the scat is full of them
i'm thinking of using the scat (fertilized berries) along our pond..it is likely that whatever berry bushes those berries are from are well fertilized and will likely grow if "planted" around our pond..there is a rainy season coming on so they have a good chance of sprouting and growing..
i'm just really curious as to what type of berries they are..around the same size as honeysuckle berrries but our honeysuckle berries have been pretty well stripped by the birds by now ...any idea what they might be?
Bloom where you are planted.
