trees will love your west facing slope..you might however need to dam the
water around their trunks with a basin or
swale to keep the water from draining away too quickly in the rain..i suggest a swale with a heavy mulch on the down slope side of the trunks.
cherry and peach/plum/apricot family would do really well on a west slope..anywhere between the very top and the very bottom..as long as there isn't terrible winds..as the frost will drain away down the slope and being west facing it will not warm up as early in the spring so it will be less likely that you'll lose your blossoms to late spring frosts.
