I have half a dozen of these plants, which melded right in to the back ground of my weedy lawn until they bloomed overnight. Pulled one up to photograph, please help if you know what it is! Thank-you.

hi Vera,

I would guess "orange hawkweed"

you now have a flower in your weedy lawn
much visited by bees and other pollinators
I mow around patches of them to provide color and habitat

Orange hawkweed is on the noxcious weed list for Washington state, and here's another dscussion about all the kinds of hawkweed and why it's a problem.

It's also allelopathic, it has growth inhibitors.
