David Heaf posted this paper on his e-mail list recently. it's a bit dry, but interesting all the same. one bit that stood out to me is that the population collapse following introduction of varroa mites caused a bottleneck of mitochondrial DNA, but not overall genetic diversity, which is likely due to polyandry.
