Wow! An old 393 acre smallholding for sale on the west coast of Norway, including pasture, woodlands, dry stone walls, shoreline boat access and hunting rights. Going for a mere £66 000 (850 000 NOK / 93 200 € / 103 500 USD)! The house is falling down, so you'd have to demolish and rebuild, or stay in a caravan for a while, but what an opportunity for a budding permaculturist! This island is connected to the mainland by road bridge. It's on the wrong island for us: we want to stay on Byrknesøy just 15 km away, but please share with permaculturists who might be interested! Check out the photos under "Flere bilder". There's a collective viewing of the property on 23rd August 2015, from 1200 - 1300 hrs. http://m.finn.no/realestate/homes/ad.html?finnkode=62336876&sort=1&location=0.20014&ref=fas

OMGGGG that's beautiful! How cool!

Also, what's "hunting rights?"

Hunting rights are the rights to hunt game in the area. This includes red deer and possibly black grouse too. There are certainly red deer on the property.

I was assuming that if it was noteworthy, it wasn't a de facto thing like it is in my state.

My wife says it looks too cold there haha

Ha! I guess it depends what you're used to. These monthly averages correspond roughly with the area: http://www.holiday-weather.com/bergen/averages/

Hmm looks like the winter isn't any/much colder, but the summers sure are
