heavy duty cargo trailer. 8 ft long.

I bought this trailer for $300.☺☺☺ It came with some extra wheels.

 The organic food delivery business didn't go out of business. They were absorbed by a competitor who did not need the trailer. All employees now have benefits, and the old owner of this business has moved on to a better job. Everybody won.

It will be used for many things.

1. Hauling tools and ladders to my landscaping and demolition jobs.

2. Base for a light weight camper/sleeping pod. I'll be able to sleep almost anywhere.

3. Transport of wild harvested fruit.

Other uses may arise.

It will be towed by my electric bike.

neat. any idea how much it weighs? any question of your ability to stop with it fully loaded? is there provision for brakes on the trailer? how's handling?

I ride with my bike loaded up pretty heavily sometimes. with most of the weight low, it handles pretty well. seems like front panniers work better than rear for handling. I've got a much smaller trailer than yours, but it's plenty big to haul 160-lb alfalfa bales. worked relatively well for that, but stopping quickly was just not an option.

I haven't towed it yet. Most of the city is pretty flat. Big hills will be avoided. My bike has better brakes than most. I met a guy delivering vegetables with this trailer last year. He figured that the 50 lb trailer had 500 lbs aboard. He was about 40 lb lighter than me and his bike was about 30 lb lighter. I doubt that I will ever load it so heavily.

There are no trailer brakes. I'll need to go easy on the throttle. While others pedaled their heavy loads, I will let the motor do much of the work. The same Pedigo motor, moves a cargo bike rated for 400 lbs of cargo, plus the rider.

This is the story of my sleeping pod which is not built yet. It is being designed to double as a tool storage box for the bike and as a small camper for the bike. Tools will ride in the box and ladders on top of it, when it is used around the city for landscaping work. When not in use,  I expect that the bike, bike trailer and pod along with ladders and other goods, will reside in a big contractors trailer, such as the one pictured below.

 I may find myself sleeping in this larger trailer,  along with all of these and many more items, when traveling out of town.

Where did you buy this 8 ft trailer

Dale is not here any more. He bought the trailer from its previous owner in Vancouver, BC, Canada, so that would be a place to research for information. I would guess that it was built around ten years ago more or less, so the maker may or may not still be in business.
