I want to introduce a friend to a permaculture approach to family scale veggie gardening and chickens as they are about to move to the country (South of England). The chicken keeping will be new to them for sure though his wife has kept ducks as a girl.
Any book recommendations?
Has anybody read "The Permaculture Home Garden" Food Gardening With Linda Woodrow? is it any good?
The best book on poultry keeping, in my opinion, is Harvey Ussery's "The Small Scale Poultry Flock" It does incorporate some permaculture principles as they relate to chicken keeping, but is not a permaculture intensive book.
There is a wealth of knowledge here on permies.com on chicken paddock rotation, building forest gardens for chooks etc.
