Winter wonderland. Flew over the Rockies to Fort St. John BC, western edge of the great plains.

It started out cloudy in Vancouver, but cleared up for much of the trip. The older propeller plane blocked distant views, so I took ground shots.

The snow obscures dark color and accentuates slope, shadow and light. It looked almost like a black and white done with silver oxide.

The town is mostly a mix of fast food places, big box stores and McMansions.

BBBBRRRRR! I grew up in Dawson Creek, which is about 45 minutes from Fort St. John. Left about 6 years ago, and am quite happy about that. Nasty.

Yes, it does get cold in the great white North. I don't think I saw one snowflake here in Victoria this year. My windshield got frosty a few times.
