No electrical power required, no batteries... a mechanical calculator. Really cool, but not cheap ($1k on ebay).

At a fruit market in Chinatown, there is a lady whose hand speed is faster than Bruce Lee. Her abacus skills put most modern inventions to shame. Might not work so well as a mortgage calculator.
