Young couple (aged 33 and 36, no children) seeking for live-in earning option. We are aiming at making money by doing what we like to do and being who we are.
We are looking for a place where we can get involved in activities related to hospitality and gastro-tourism, like cooking (including canning, making fruit and herb brandies, cheese), cleaning, tour guiding, organizing programmes for adults and children (like wine tasting, canoe tours, cycling), or fishing, farming and gardening (mostly permaculture or organic farming), or health (massage, yoga, natural cosmetics). We have experience in all of the things listed above.
Besides, we are also ready to learn new skills and would be pleased to help in rearing bees, with duties around horses, goats or cows, etc.
Both of us speak Hungarian( as native) and English, and one of us can speak French/Slovak-Czech and a bit of Italian/German. Both of us has a driving licence and one of us is an experienced driver. We are reasonable, open-minded, smily and loving people.
We would go to a place that is sorrounded by nature and near natural water and where eco-friendly thinking is preferred. We would like to improve and experience the reality of the lifestyle we plan to live together later on.
If you are interested in us, we would be pleased to send further info on our experiences and skills.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Cheers,
Petra and Gyurka

I wish I could help you. We are so close, but the extra home we have is just not habitable at this time, and we lack the funds in the intermediate time to get it to where it needs to be. But just because I do not have a place (yet) does not mean they do not exist, in fact they are just about everywhere here. Of course with short growing seasons, lots of rock, it is hard to make a go of it here.

Would you consider Northern Maine ? I have an acre or two that you can work on in exchange for helping me. Work the acreage properly and in short order you could be making money. This is an excellent area to live. Almost all the people are just plain good. There are jobs available as well. We could build you a Cabin on skids. When you put together about $ 3000.00, I know of many in the area that will finance you. Especially if they can see the work you have already completed. Load the cabin on a truck then move to your own place. You will also have the outbuildings you will need to be up and in operation. Things you will need like an outhouse, woodshed on skids, smoker on skids, etc.. I think you get the idea.

You sound like wonderful people! My dad is Hungarian, first language. He would love just to speak with you or write back and forth! Not so many Magyars here in the southern part of the U.S. I have a 200 acre farm in southern Virginia, and it has a lot of potential, but it is not at this time set up for tourism. I see that you have deleted yourselves, but you might still check out this site. If so, feel free to respond. My parents are in Raleigh, NC and there is ecotourism there. Wish you luck.

Hi, We are looking for two people to work with us on our organic apple orchard and sheep dairy this season. Here's the partial job description: http://catehillorchard.com/2016-farm-workers-positions for more info, email me. A few things you wrote about made me think you might be a great fit on our farm: herbal brandies! That's something I've just been exploring this last year-- trying to recreate an amazing herbal brandy I got in Latvia, Balzam-- maybe there is something like that in Hungary? Dark, bitter, delicious.... And cheese, yes, we are making sheep cheese-- our dairy will be officially open this summer. Agro/food tourism is also something we are just getting into/thinking about getting into-- we have a farm store, and would like to do a few farm events involving food. We are in a remote yet touristy area of northern Vermont. Anyway, check out our website and let me know if it interests you. thanks!
