As the title says we are looking for a place to work and learn over the summer for a few weeks.

We're a family of four (44, 37, 7 and 5), I'm English my wife is Dutch and one of the kids was born in NZ where we lived for 6 years.

I'm a time-served carpenter, now doing other things and my wife is a psychologist/trainer/coach in winter and spends as much time as possible in the garden in summer. The kids love animals, climbing trees, and trampolines.

We have a 400m2 garden which is in it's third year and starting to look like a food forest, (rather than a bunch of sticks in the ground!)

We offer

Professional building skills
Gardening skills
Problem solving and solution focused planning skills
Fun and laughter
At least 6 hours work a day (between us), more if possible

We will
Supply our own food
Bring some tools if needed
Have one adult responsible for our kids at all times
Work hard and treat your farm/ garden with respect

We want

To learn everything you know about what it’s like to work/ run a farm
To get more of a sense of living and working in France
A place to sleep (we can bring a tent if necessary)
A place to shower
A place to cook (if it rains)

Our wish would be for a farm around Angouleme/ South-West France, but we care more about what we can learn rather than where you are. If you have an opportunity, or know someone who might, then please get in touch.
We are planning on moving to France as soon as we can, and we need to pack in as much experience as possible, (also we need a cheap holiday because all the money is going into the farm fund!)

Thanks for your time

Rus

Hi Russ
Good idea to scout prospective areas before you move . Unfortunately this year it looks like I will be having visitors most of the holidays . Let me know a bit more in advance and maybe we can work something out.
Dont rule out Anjou and Vandee . Prices for land and houses away from the big towns and the coast are very cheap . The weather mild and the wine wet

Some examples I found in 5 mins

I am sure there are others and thats just our post code

Thanks for your reply David.
We went to have a look around Limoges, Angouleme and Perigueux at easter and liked what we saw.
Thanks for your offer, it sounds like your busy, but it would be nice to share a bottle of wine if we're in the area! I'll keep you updated.

Do you want ants? Because that's how you get ants. And a tiny ads:
