Hey guys I thought I would share a bit of a success story on out battle to combat Canadian Thistle in our
yard, and convert that lawn-ish area into productive growing beds. I shot a couple short videos here along with a little write up:

Our big takeaway is that you really have to snuff the
energy out of those thistles for this to work. Diligent daily weeding for a couple months eventually seems to wear them out, because they will push their way through multiple layers of
cardboard and a foot of mulchy composty material. On our next section we're trying a heavy tarp to irradiate them for a several months then sheet mulch this fall. Overall the
project is a success, but I want even less work so we're trying the tarp thing.
