Hello,

We are a couple from Australia looking to do some traveling in North America very soon. We are interested in community living and natural ways of building. Lachie has worked in garden maintenance & completed a horticulture apprenticeship and Peta is a marine biologist. We both have a keen interest in learning sustainable practices and ways we can lower our impact on the earth. We understand that it's coming into winter in North America and we are having trouble finding many workshops happening. We are really just looking for an opportunity to experience community living as we have been involved in a tiny house building workshop and also tried our hands at building with cob and enjoyed them. We also grew some of our own food and camped on a friends land for 6 months so we have a little experience in that. Just hoping someone might be able to point us in the right direction to finding like minded people that would be happy to have us stay or check out there place or know of any communities that would be happy for us to visit. We have become members of/ looked at websites such as WWOOFers, Helpx and workaway but have yet to find something that fits so we are considering just cold contacting while in the US.

At this stage we have no set area we will be visiting but we are going to be in the North east of the US around Christmas & New Years.

Thanks.

We're near Tampa Fl and are sustainable minded farmers and have been looking for Community Living experiences for some time. Saw your post a while back but Australia seems kind of distance in several ways.  We except woofers and are always looking for good help. Still really focusing on long term partner, community, relationship.

Are you familiar with ic.org?  It's the premier website for intentional communities of every sort, both established and forming, and it's searchable by location and keyword.  Hundreds of listings.  You should easily be able to find quite a few places game to welcome industrious short or longer term visitors.

We have a 40 acer homestead in NE WA state we have 2 couples here and the homestead is beginning to produce. We share our land and our harvests with anyone willing to pitch in and get things done around here. We would love to host people from down under, and we may even be able to work out a RV for you to stay in. Check out this link and get ahold of us if your interested....

I am a 55 year old white male seeking a community to live and work in. I prefer to stay on the East coast and the only monetary help I need is to pay my phone bill to stay in touch with my family
