We are Piper, Froukje and Rowin (1). Piper is a life-long gardener and professional chef. He has the skill to keep overview when a lot is going on, and has a good awareness about what needs to be done. For the last 8 years he has been the private chef and main gardener of an intentional community. Froukje joined him there 4 years ago and has learned a lot in that period.

We have experience and knowledge in:
Organic gardening
Orchard care
Lifestock care
Property maintenance
Water management
Cooking
Food preservation
Cheesemaking
Bread baking

We value quality above quantity. Being part of an homestead or farm is a way of life for us, which is not bound to fixed hours. We love to work and we love to work together. As Rowin's parents we hope to find a flexible situation, in which we can integrate Rowin in our daily activities. Preferably for longer term and with other children close by.

Seeking acreage in TN for a long-term multifamily farm ecovillage/intentional community. Will be pioneering raw fertile virgin land (also cheaper!) into productive acreage, will be trying to create a farming income to support having my own children as well. We are definitely seeking moral neighbors and villagemates to rent or own with us in this endeavor. PM me if interested in hearing more.

Plus is in TN where we seek to go, no restrictions to building codes.

can make a house out of this for virtually free, with labor.

Dustin

Hi Guys,  Talking Rock Farm/Coweeta Heritage Center is looking for longer term volunteers and new members.  I am located in the mountains of Western North Carolina.  Opportunities this winter include helping with building an earth bermed house (stacked block/living roof/solar/radiant floor), and winter gardening (greens, etc).  I have a guest trailer for volunteers to stay in.  Located near Franklin, NC.  My phone number is 828-369-0231. Email me at coweeta@gmail.com.  Look for me on IC.org under Coweeta Heritage Center.  Also www.coweetaheritagecenter.com and www.facebook.com/coweetaheritagecenter.  Best,  Paul

Hey Paul,

Sorry about the late reply the website was sending my messages to an old defunct email address!

I wanted to ask if you knew where we could learn to build earth bermed homes online? Any DIY tutorials out there?

We are trying to move to TN where there are no building restrictions, I am curious how you managed to make it work in NC? I live in NC now and couldnt find anywhere that would let me build freely.
