Orders for this offer are now ended

We are getting rid of stuff.  Including weird stuff.   And we picked this weird way to do it.

Send $52 via paypal.  On monday we will send out boxes (US Only).

Each box will definitely contain:

One of the 4-DVD set "Wood Burning Stoves 2.0".  Some of the DVDs have a rattle in them.  We guarantee that all the DVDs work fine - but that the case might have a flaw.  So we are getting rid of the boxes that have a rattle in them.  We currently sell these for $50.

One deck of permaculture playing cards.  Nothing wrong with them.  Just sweetening the pot.  Plus, I kinda think that if you have never seen the cards before, you will see them and then want a couple dozen to give at christmas.  Currently $12 at amazon.

Bonus stuff that will be distributed to boxes ...   how much of any of this ends up in boxes will entirely depend on how many people buy in to this nutty idea.   Please don't ask about shirt sizes and stuff - I don't want to have that conversation ever again.  Please don't request stuff for your box - the idea is that this will all be distributed randomly.

    24 permies.com tshirts.

A deck of sergei boutenko's wild edibles playing cards.

some pince-nez reading glasses that i tried and i don't like

I need my little backpack again.  It was dedicated to all of my geocaching adventures where I would repair broken geocaches and I would make sure that geocaches were full of trinkets.   So I have this mountain of trinkets and foreign coins.

And each person will get the following digitally:

So at the very least, more than $150 worth of stuff for $52.

The geocaching stuff:   a LOT of foreign coins.  I liked to add the coins to the geocaches so that kids would have "treasure".  There are some little wire games.  A lot of the little tins have magnets - they made really good micro-caches.  And safety pins.  You can see a deck of sergei's cards and the pince nez reading glasses.  Pads, pencils and pencil sharpeners were for the cache logs.   The important thing is that this is just a bit of silly to throw into the boxes.

So, send $52 to paypal paul at richsoil.com and $150+ of valuable stuff plus some trinkets will come to you.

Hi Paul,

During this happy election time, I can honestly say this is the first time I have thought to myself, Gee, I wish I lived in the US of A.

I think what you are saying is that during the election you are thinking "I'm sure glad that I don't live in the us." and now that I have this dealio, you are thinking "gimmie!  i want some-a-that!  I wish I lived in the us so I could get some-a-that."    ??

Normally, when somebody sends a payment, I like to reply quickly and say "order received!"   But paypal has decided to make things "better" by not sharing your email address so freely.  A week ago I would have replied to the notification and said "order received!" and then you would know that I got the order.  But now that doesn't work.   About five days ago, the email address was embedded in the email, so a little copy and paste was annoying, but I could get it to work:  "order received!".  And about three days ago, paypal took that out too.  So then there is a button in the email that says "transaction details".  I would click on that, put in my paypal password, get shown the "summary" page, search for the transaction (because it turns out that the button doesn't go to the transaction details like it suggests), open that page, and get the email and then send out a reply.

But that disappeared yesterday.

Yesterday afternoon, Jocelyn was able to generate a spreadsheet report that included the email address.

So, on monday morning, I will send all of you an email letting you know the status of your order.

So far, it looks like each order will include two or three tshirts!

OK, I helped make half of that stuff, and it still sounds like a fun deal.

(And I totally get that it's not part of the deal to say "send me some trinkets because I already have all that other stuff.")

Maybe I will transmute my enthusiasm into a quick mention of this deal somewhere ephemeral and timely.

I think that we will end the ordering this evening sometime.   Maybe around 7pm mountain time.   So far there have been about six orders.   I thought there might be 40.   So I guess a few people will get gobs and gobs of trinkets and tshirts!

Orders for this offer accepted until 7pm tonight (mountain time)

There are 12 orders going out.

We have six shipping addresses.  Gonna spend some time on the phone today to get the other six from paypal.

Each order has 2 shirts (one has three), a 4-dvd set, a deck of cards (one has two decks), puzzles, games, foreign coins, some very old indian head nickles ...  we hope to have all 12 in the mail today.

Paypal is refusing to give up people's addresses.  This is turning into an educational process about the way paypal does stuff.

When you go to paypal and you wanna send money to somebody, you have a choice:  buy stuff or send money to a friend.   So, when people send me money, six of them selected "buy" and six selected "friend".  There is, of course, no option for "buy something from my friend Paul!"

So, emails have been sent to the six people that think of me as a friend - to ask them for their shipping address.

All 12 boxes went out.

I have now given all 12 people access to three digital videos and I passed on the 12 email addresses to Justin Rhodes so he can set them up with digital access to the permaculture chickens dvd.

All gone.

It turns out we had 25 shirts and 12 people that jumped on this deal.   So 11 people got two shirts and one person got three.   And that's all of them.
