These piglets are fenceless since birth.
Their mother was raised here since 8 weeks and they are vigorous foragers already at 8 days. The 2 AGH/KK sows and our full KuneKune boar have been rotated under mixed canopy for almost 2 years.
Our sister sow is very due now so we're expanding from 3 to >20 in a short period and winter rains are setting in. We'll start MIRGing the older litter with their momma in a few weeks to mitigate mud/compaction and get the piglets trained on portable fencing.
We're noticing quite a difference in the piglets instinctual browsing; some more, some less. Now at 2 weeks they are eating grass, blackberry, dandelion, etc.
We're still supplementing feed with sprouted barley, organic farm veg glean, and a few local restaurant scraps.

Are they in a larged fenced area so they just don't encounter fences, or is there truly not a fence at all?

Because if there's truly not a fence at all, how on earth are you not pissing off your neighbors.

Cait (whose family has spent the last 20-odd years removing feral pigs from their property and holy CRAP they do a lot of damage)

Our spot doesnt likely serve as a model for most because of its seclusion. The "neighbors" are about 1/2 mile away. We also spent a bunch of time with the sisters as piglets with no fences, kept them well fed and have a diverse forage environment. Most everywhere around here is Doug fir monoculture so a mixed deciduous canopy with openings has more to offer. They really don't stray farther than their usual spots (1/4 mile radius). In summer when the garden is tasty, they're working thru the forest with electronetting. This time of year though, it's low risk and a free for all.

Not the topic I was expecting to see the bottom of the cart in, but that is pretty solid looking.
Thanks for showing it, Lucio.

Yeah that cart pic ad was an accident. My tech savyness has gaps. Is there a way to delete such accidental posts?

There's a city wide manhunt for this tiny ad:
