Not to be rude, but have you worked with this woman personally?

I don't really know what you want to discuss here. Her books, the herbs her website?

I mean exactly what I said.  It is a question to Raya if she
has worked personally with the woman she is
advertising for.

I haven't heard back from her so I assume she hasn't.

I have not personally worked for her,no. I just like her information about weeds and using them in nourishing teas so I thought I would share. I figured people who are interested in permaculture would also be interested in her information. I have a couple of her books and have read articles by her and she has influenced me in many positive ways.

Susun Weed has a large collection of herbal videos on youtube. she has a spectacular view on herbs, healing and life. She seems to be a wonderful teacher. she is very inspiring and has written several books too.

I've learned more than I can say from Susun Weed's books, and love her videos on youtube as well, she's so forthright in her manner of teaching.

That being said, I'm not crazy about the website. She doesn't actually run it, (I think it is her daughter), and I find it's becoming  pretty commercial, with lots of expensive on-line courses on offer.

Her books are first class, though (IMO)

Susun Weed is my Muse in the Herbal Arts and Womanly Arts. I've adored and learned so much from her sparkly example for the better part of 10 years. I've not met her in this life, but feel as if she is a close kindred Sister Spirit- I revere her message and her drive to help empower her Sisters globally

I have been studying a lot of the free lesson plans that Susan Weed posts on the net. They are jam packed with information and to follow the lesson plans closely is not an easy task. She is very serious about herbal education. Her videos and radio shows are not really my 'style' but she freely gives away so much valuable information that I watch and listen to them anyway. One day I may even muster up the courage to take a course with her.

I agree that she knows a lot about herbs, but I don't agree with of her statements re: circumcision and birth control. From what I can tell, her opinion on circumcision is based on a biased study done in the 1950's and a lack of knowledge in regards to the benefits, esp to older women, of the foreskin. Her birth control opinion is actually intellectually intriguing to me and it's not so much that I disagree with her ideas on the subject, I just find that her recommendations are incomplete in the same way that doctors who prescribe antibiotics without mention of pro/pre-biotics is in complete. For the average woman there are some side effects of birth control that can be mitigated when considered, but ignored, they can become problems. I wonder if what she likes about birth control can be attained in a non-pharma way and unless we acknowledge the problems with birth control, we wont be looking for the natural, sustainable alternative.

Clover, you have me curious now - I'll have to look up her recommendations on that subject. After much arguing with doctors I finally had that whole baby factory shut down and removed from my body so I don't think about it much (at all) anymore. It was amazing what I had to go through to get that surgery but yet a man can walk and have anything he wants done with a snap of the fingers. But it is done now and I am so much happier.

But I will look up her stuff because I do still have a 30 year old daughter that is dealing with birth control issues.
