I always start on "most recent".  When I get to the bottom of the page, and go to page 2, many (most) topics are the same as on page 1.  ?

I believe it's because of the new posts steadily coming in.

In the time it takes me to read what's on page 1, often several new posts are posted.

If, say, there are six of them, then that bumps the entire list down by six. And when I go to page 2, then the first six are repeats. (The first six on p2 were the last six on p1 a little while ago.)

I can confirm there's definitely a bug. At first I thought it was as Mike mentioned, but for me it's usually 5-15 old posts on page 2 (like 1/3 to 1/2 of the posts listed), even if there haven't been any new posts between pagination. It's never bugged me enough to bring up, but it would be nice to get fixed eventually.

If you go to the dashboard at the top and click on "Forums", on that page above the words PERMACULTURE & HOMESTEADING DISCUSSION FORUMS there's a drop-down menu. Do you have "Most Recent Topics As Table" chosen or something else?

Exactly.  Even if I come from the homepage, scroll immediately to the bottom, and go to page 2, it still occurs.

When I changed my view choice to "Default" and hit change view button, I scrolled to the bottom and hit page 2. When page 2 came up I noticed that it had changed "Default" view back to "Most Recent Topics As Table" and most of the threads were the same. I like that view and have used it for many months. If "Default" is changing it without me doing anything then maybe the view I've been using IS the systems default.

It must only be the default for you then, because I never even knew that option was there, so I know I never changed mine

Edit to add:  I tried to change mine to the "table", and now I don't even get the option at the bottom to go to page two.

If I click the "Forums" button from the dashboard I can select my view choice there. I have chosen "Most Recent Topics As Table". (You must click on the "Change View" button after you've made your choice from the drop-down menu.) Then, if I click on "Recent Topics" from the dashboard I'm set. I have page numbers at the top and bottom of the page and page numbers with the threads that have multiple pages. I have this page added to my home screen so I get there in one click. I hope this is helpful to you (or anyone).

It's still the same (buggy) behavior for me. I've never changed any of the homepage display options and both pages say "Default View" but as of right now the first 23 topics on page 2 were also on page 1.
