Today I was scything my field as I noticed an owl watching me. How wonderful! Would not have been the case if I was using power equipment

I actually make noise deliberately when using my scythe as in the past I have hurt frogs and snakes

Using my tractors for field work seems to attract the birds and others. I almost always have a cloud of Barn Swallows flying in a cloud above me as I make hay. They like the bugs that are stirred up as I pass. I love how they bob and weave above me as I work. And often the butterflies rise up before me. I have often had them come over to land on me and visit for a bit even as I move along. As for the hawks, here generally Red Tails, they stand guard, perched in the line fence trees, watching for the mice and others suddenly exposed as I lay the grass down. The world is just so full of life, if we would only notice.
