Pear tree with nearly mature fruit, is growing more flowers

This pear tree flowered in the spring, as trees do. It has also flowered since then.

There is fruit that is just about ripe, some that is just beginning to grow, and there are blossoms. I've never noticed this before. Is this common amongst pear trees or is this something more unique that might have to do with the seaside location?

Seems like a handy way to spread out the risk of frost and it's nice to have fruit ready over such a long period.

We had a hot spell, followed by the first rain in quite a while. I wonder if this has something to do with it.

We have a pear tree that seems to double crop every year.  I'm not sure if that's because of the variety or the conditions...

I have never had this happen with a pear tree but I noticed this for the first time this year with an apple tree. It had not been pruned in years and thought that with the variable weather might have help to cause it. It was hot then wet probably similar to the weather the pear tree got.
