I know this sounds stupid.....i'm a 31 year old male and I have no idea what a podcast is. In my car I listen to npr and talk radio, I don't really listen to music. I like listening to people talking. Someone suggested I listen to podcasts. I have heard the word but do not know what it means. I see Paul has like 300+ how do I listen to these? Can anyone give me a crash course on podcasts? I have an android phone that would be easiest for me use, is it possible from my phone?  Thanks for any help you might have.

Have you googled "podcast"?

Basically it is usually an mp3  (audio) file recorded and then made available for download so the person can listen later anywhere from a mobile device (phone or tablet, etc) when they may not have direct access to internet streaming.  The download takes a fraction of the time it would take to listen to the whole recording, and many services (I Tunes is one) can program your device to automatically update the latest downloads of any favorites you have designated.
