veg garden pest

hey guys.  i aplogize in advance if this thread is out of scope, but my investigative roadmap led me to this forum.  i have a specific problem with squash bugs and squash vine borers on my zucchini.  my research tells me that diatomaceous earth could help control the adult bugs on my plants.  i would like to know if any of you have heard of this, or you think it could help me.  ( i plan on covering my spring plants with netting to prevent these bugs from laying new eggs on my plants, but i am not anticipating that will be 100% effective, so i am planning for the worst).  thanks for any wisdom you could provide.

Ive had good success with native frogs. Make a small pond for them to live in and they will take care of the rest No advice on DE, never used it. GL!

i second the frogs, and attract birds too.

I agree.... using DE on veggie pest can be tricky - most all of them have methods of hiding, and/or staying on the hard to get at places on plants like underside of leaves. 

If not frogs maybe ducks would work for your situation.
