Cattail down/fluff uses in building

I wanted to know if anyone out there had experience with adding cattail down to an earthen plaster, most notably for the finish coats. I found one reference in an article but thought it was a great idea! such an abundant and hearty plant! Also an excellent insulating material! should be more applications for the plan in natural building

My experience with cattail down is limited to use as tinder. It works really well for that! So while i can imagine it beeing great as fiber reinforcement in plaster, i would not use it as insulation if there is any risk of fire.

The company in the video seems to use the leaves and stems, not the down. Still really interesting, though!
