Is anyone growing blewitts? What methods are you using?

I already have a bag of spawn. I’m not sure how to grow them. I cut a 10” diameter pine last week because it was dying. I thought I might plant the blewitts around the trunk, but there are too many roots to work the ground up. Would it work to just put the spawn under the pine duff and then add the branch tips with the needles from the cut tree? Should I add lime or anything else?

Maybe I should pick another spot?

Thanks  !
