My dear friend Beki has done this clever little thing i thought to share with the perma culture community.
She has used old tiles around her veggiebeds to direct the rainwater towards the newly planted babyplants. They're angled as well, how cunning!

I like it! Like big flat stones, shading soil, suppressing weeds and gathering rain.

These tiles are not heavy. She’ll use them at a new bed when a little hedgerow of thymeplants has grown to keep the grass out.
